Top 10 Reasons Why Competitive Muskie Fishing Is Tougher Than Other Sports
1. Opponent is a different species, not to mention the hardest fish to catch in freshwater (think about it)
2. Size of playing field (10,000 acres anyone)?
3. Weather (if the postman is out, so are the anglers)
4. Endurance (day after day in boiling sun, cold, rain, whatever tossing heavy ass lures)
5. Financial requirement (tournament entry fees, gas, lodging, food, rods and reels, lures, etc.)
6. Length of competition (at least 16 hours per event not including pre fishing and being on the road)
7. Travel (hours and hours of driving)
8. Time away from home
9. Hand-eye coordination
10. Getting shot at (believe it or not, it happens — can you imagine that at the Superdome?) |
